With the unjust arrest for high treason of Captain Alfred Dreyfus on 15 October 1894, a trial and human story began, ending in 1906 with civil rehabilitation and reintegration into the army, that gripped the whole world.
What has been called the ‘Dreyfus Affair’ saw politicians and intellectuals battle it out for years in articles, pamphlets, disputes and duels, shaking France at the time and attracting the attention of other countries.
A young Luigi Einaudi wrote three articles about it in ‘La Stampa’ in 1899, which can be downloaded from the Foundation's website.
The Library has volumes written after the trial, as well as a good number of books and pamphlets that appeared at the time of the trial. Click here for the full list.
