Giuseppe Prato (Turin, 19 March 1973 - Turin, 18 August 1928), whose archives are kept by the Einaudi Foundation, was professor of Political Economy, Finance Science and Finance Law at the R. Istituto Superiore di Studi Commerciali in Turin from 1908 to 1928. From 1908 he was editor-in-chief and then co-director of 'Riforma Sociale', directed by Luigi Einaudi. He also taught History of Economic Doctrines at the Bocconi University in Milan and Institutions of Economic Sciences at the Catholic University in Milan. He mainly dealt with economic history, with particular regard to the economic development of Piedmont.
The archival fonds consist of about 18,500 letters, telegrams, cards, postcards amounting to 95 dossiers (about 14 linear metres in total).
Not only this is an important addition to the archives of Luigi Einaudi, with whom Prato was in correspondence from 1893 until the year of his death, and with whom he collaborated on the drafting of the 'Riforma Sociale' (this fond contains 307 letters by Luigi Einaudi), but also to the Roberto Michels' and Alberto Geisser's archives.
