Luigi Einaudi on the Barolo Wall, a street art installation at Barolo (CN)

Published on:

The Municipality of Barolo presents the 2024 edition of the Barolo Wall, 100 metres of street art, an artistic installation conceived by the urban artist Jargon and the Municipality of Barolo itself. The Barolo Wall is a story, a tale told through images, which aims to promote equality, respect and social change. The images were printed on forex panels (70x100 cm) and fixed with dowels along Via XXV Aprile.

The installation is all set up in the open air and in order to observe it, one has to walk along the pavement in front of the masonry. After an experimental phase that started in 2020, the idea of the 2024 Edition was to include panels on historical figures who did important things in Piedmont. The wall is divided into 6 large sections.

Section 1 Giacomo Morra (founder of the International Truffle Fair)

Section 2 Luigi Einaudi (President of the Italian Republic with his wife Ida Pellegrini)

Section 3 The invention of Barolo (The marquises Falletti and the birth of modern Barolo wine)

Section 3 Marquise Giulia di Barolo (Juliette Colbert philanthropist and entrepreneur)

Section 4 Michelangelo Abbado (violinist, forefather of a famous dynasty of musicians and artists with his wife Maria Carmela Savagnone)

Section 5 Adriano Olivetti (visionary entrepreneur, founder of Italy's first typewriter factory)

Section 6 Paolo Desana (politician and founder of the D.O.C. [controlled designation of origin])
